Your Body, Your Choice

Set in modern-day Kentucky, Natalie is a Republican woman who has fallen pregnant, yet this baby is the last thing she wants. Unfortunately, she’s met with the same decisions to consider in aborting her baby, policies that she and her political party fought to enforce, causing her to be on the harsher side of it. 

We go back and forth over whether women are meant to be treated as humans or objects. But the truth is, we never go forth, only backwards. When Roe v. Wade was overturned, that projected a bleak message for the future lives of women and people, especially the lives of the ones who would come after us.  ‘Your Body, Your Choice ’ is a twine game with Unreal Engine 5 assets that portrays that there is no choice, not really.

Habeebh Sylla is a Malian-American first-gen Creative Writing graduate from Emerson College. Social commentaries fuel her work, and thus far, it has been centered on her Malian identity, being a Black woman, and, of course, the complexity of her mother-daughter relationship. In whatever medium she produces, she hopes that people will gain a reflective lesson from it.
